Did u have many time: Did you have multiple times at different periods. Before labeling it as Irritable bowel syndrome , get your stool tested for infections with bacteria,eggs of intestinal worms, adult parasites , and for a toxin called clostridium difficile toxin which can cause diatthoea. If negative for above and if symptoms occur at various periods of time and anxiety is an additional symptom IBS is possible.

Will still work: Since Bentyl (dicyclomine) is an antispasmodic, it is used to "relax" the bowels. In IBS, many events are triggered by food so Bentyl (dicyclomine) is generally taken a little before every meal.

Works fast: it works fast ,actually the dose is 10-20 mg before each meal, I will definitely start with 10 mg if this the first time user, to make sure there is no side effect. work much better with IBS  associated with loose BM.
adjusting diet, eat multiple small meals, avoid food that usually caused problems, and that based on each individual separately, exercise, and meditation, and stress management.

what pain medication can i take for irritable bowel disease? bentyl (dicyclomine) has no effect and 5mg of percocet is no longer working. the pain is excruciating.

Makes it worse: Opiates are BAD and temporary solutions to any kind of intestinal disorder.  They may temporarily mask the pain, but by also slowing down the activity of the bowel they ultimately make the symptoms worse.  Anticholinergic drugs like bentyl (dicyclomine) may or may not work. See your PCP or a gastroenterologist to make sure you have the right diagnosis and the right treatment. There are many available options.
