TKA healing: You can typically put full weght on it immediately postop. The rehab however continues for several months, and continuing with home exercise program to re-train the sort tissues and muscles. Tisuue is made of collagen which takes 6 weeks to heal, then 6 weeks or so to recalibrate to the realignment.

TKA time: Remember it takes time to position, time for anesthesia, time for prep, time to "wake up", time to apply dressings, etc. The actual cutting time from skin to skin varies with the surgeon, but usually 40-60 minutes for that part.

Varies by patient : Everybody recovers differently after a total knee replacement.  The definition of "normal" will also vary patient to patient. 
The more dedicated the patient is to his/her recovery, however, the quicker they will recover and the more successful the surgery will be. Count on at least 3 months for full recovery.

: Wound vacs are generally removed when the amount of hourly/daily drainage collected has declined to an acceptable level. The duration of need varies with each case, but follows patterns known to the treating surgeon.

: Most corrective surgeries are done for symptoms which are unacceptable. You don't seem to be having those. So there is no urgency if total knee is advised. also you can get a second opinion and have the doc explain the reason for the proposed treatment. Good luck

Get evaluated: Burning is a non specific sign, but could represent swelling or just a normal change in sensation following surgery due to the procedure. Please call your MD's office so they can get more details and decide if you might need to be seen by them. Good luck!

Ask your surgeon: While there shouldn't be any contraindications to taking zithromax prior to surgery, it is always best to ask your surgeon and/or anesthesiologist to see if they have any concerns.
