Ok to watch: As long as you aren't having any concerning symptoms you can watch and wait. Make sure you report the injury at work so that it will be covered if you do need medical attention.  Reasons to go to the doctor would be increasing headaches, confusion, nausea/vomiting, or weakness.

Possibly: Less than 10% of retinal detachments are caused by trauma. Most are spontaneous. If you have new/worse floaters and/or flashing lights in your vision and/or peripheral vision loss, you need to see a retina specialist asap.

: Why are you getting hit in the head? If you are being subjected to physical abuse, you should report to the local police. It is not feasible to know why you do not feel pain, without examining you. Some people genetically have a higher pain threshold.

Hard headed woman.: So you say.  And so says Kat Stevens. One day you won't feel so fine. Head injuries tend to accumulate with time. I suggest you do more research.

Hematoma: There is no number on this. People get it with with mild or with moderate or severe  trauma. Some people get it without trauma.

Not hard: Concussions are serious, and recent evidence shows that they are not diagnosed as often as they probably should be. If you have had any trauma to the head through sports or accident, see your doctor or a neurologist.

Headaches: Most causes of headaches are benign.  That is - the worst thing about them is that they hurt.  Headaches that subside are almost always benign.  At your age, a headache on one side that lasts a few days is probably a migraine.

The injury you had more than one year ago is not likely to be a factor to this headache symptom.  Hope that helps!

i was hit incredibly hard in the head at basketball practice and i'm on blood thinners. should i get checked out? my head still hurts and its 12 hours

Yes: Most likely to suffered a concussion, which would give you a headache + potential nausea/ vomiting , vision problems, dizziness, etc. It is not very likely, but you can , potentially, have a subdural hematoma given the blood thinners. It is safer for you to have a head CT to be sure
