Well...: There is no easy answer to your question, other than to say that ovarian cancer is quite uncommon at your age except in rare situations.  I would encourage you to continue looking for medical help.  Most cities have county hospitals and if not, many private docs or hospitals often have indigent programs. : Weight gain over 2.5 years would not be sudden. In general malignancies or cancers are accompanied by other symptoms and weight loss would be much more common than weight gain. Start with PCP as work up might be needed for common causes for weight gain.

Ovarian cancer: The average age of a woman with ovarian cancer in the us is 62-63.  In women with a family history, women with brca1 mutations usually get cancer earlier and women with brca2 mutations get ovarian cancer at a later age.

The same cancer: Recurrence means that it's the same cancer that has come back.  While it may come back in a different place in the abdomen-- the cell type is the same regardless even if the ovaries are no longer there.  A biopsy will show if the recurrence is consistent with the original cancer.

??????: Why would you ask that , did someone tell you you had ovarian cancer or an ovarian mass, if you are worried see your gyn asap and he or she will do an exam , ultrasound to start out with , then blood work to check also if the ultrasound shows anything suspicious, possible but not very common at your gae.
