Never heard of this!: I do not know of any such named treatment which is medically proven to be useful. So i would advise you to seek a second opinion before you get into trouble with an unconventional therapy.

Accepted Answer

Depends: A leep is much less invasive and usually an effective treatment.  It can be performed in the office with local anesthesia.  A hysterectomy can also be performed and may make more sense in certain circumstances.  If you have other medical issues that could be addressed by having a hysterectomy and you are finished with childbearing  then a hysterectomy could be a better choice.

Depends: Either would be appropriate treatment for severe cervical dysplasia.  The best treatment is the one that you are most comfortable with.  A LEEP can be curative, but the recurrence risk is 30% to 50%.  The recurrence risk after a hysterectomy is less than 55.

Depends!: Cervical Dysplasia can be mild, moderate or severe. Mild to moderate Dysplasia maybe just followed by repeat smears and/or Kolposkopy, severe needs treatment.

are there any alternative non-surgical treatments for a mild cervical dysplasia?

Accepted Answer

Yes: An very acceptable non-surgical treatment of mild dysplasia is watchful waiting since most mild dysplasia will go away on its own.  Discontinuation of smoking and birth control pills could also help.  There is some possibility that anti-oxidants, like vitamin C and vitamin a, may be useful as well, but i would recommend moderation in use of supplements since high doses may have side effects.

i've had a missed miscarriage. no pain no bleeding, what treatment would be best for me i have high grade cervical dysplasia and a cyst in my left ovary?

: Careful monitoring the high grade cervical dysplasia remains necessary, but products of conception are generally removed by a suggical removal (via a D&amp;C), as retained products of conception may promote hemorrhage and other health risks (infection leading to sepsis). Consult your GYN physician for guidance.

my pap smear test revealed i have cervical dysplasia which is low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion. i tested positive for hpv and due to that my doctor has recommended llets biopsy. is this the right treatment or is it drastic?

Yes: The info you provides says you have what is a pre-cancerous lesion on your cervix. The biopsy procedure itself can remove those cells or show that a more extensive procedure be done to remove them. This is the way you avoid progression to actual cervical cancer.

how serious is a cin 3 cervical dysplasia for a woman in her 20's?

Needs follow-up!: Cin 3 cervical dysplasia means pre-cancerous cells were found on your pap smear.  It's caused by hpv, a virus. The next step is a "colposcopy", which means a doctor looks at your cervix with a microscope after putting  vinegar on it.  Sounds weird, but the vinegar makes early cancer turn white so it can be removed. This will ensure you don't get cervical cancer later!  don't be scared... : No. Endocervicitis is a chronic inflammation of the lining of the uterus. Cervical dysplasia is caused by HPV and HPV is a sexual transmitted infection. There is a vaccination for HPV which is recommended for all people ages 9 to 26.
