Confusing question: If I investigate a newborn that may have been exposed to drugs during pregnancy, there are several sources to explore. Maternal urine during labor, babies urine, babies poo or blood.Rarely, babies hair.Fetal poo begins to form after 12 weeks and may retain usable drug traces for months as will hair. Blood and urine less time. Best never use or avoid suspicion or expect to be caught.

hello,  i am on toporl xl 50 mg and quit chewing.  my blood panel run and my tsh came back at 5.29 and and ft3 came back at 4.3. is this due to drugs?

Xanax (alprazolam) : Xanax (alprazolam) will be detectable in a urinalysis test for up to 3 days.
 A urinalysis test result can be extremely variable based on a persons weight, body mass index, fluid intake and amount of exercise one does.

Sensitivity: Depends on sensitivity of test.  Also, some opioids like hydrocodone need gas chromatography to be detected sometimes.

will high bloodsugar cause low creatin levels in urine? i had blood sugar levels of 300 and above and recently took a drug test that came back having low creatin levels.

No : No the high sugar will not mess with creatine or creatinine levels. You need your diabetes controlled however. Work on that with your doctor. Creatinine is usually measured in the blood while creatine is very seldom tested. The higher the blood creatinine the worse the kidney function, in general.

Depends: On the sensitivity of the test. Honesty is the best policy, though. So if you're prescribed these meds, it's most likely u're doc wants to b sure you actually are taking them. If not, best to disclose that you've been using them. Your doc can't treat you safely with other meds if a/he doesn't know all the medications you are taking.

If : If you have an allergy to a sulfa medication you should avoid sulfa medications.  However, since sulfonamides are usually used in medication and not in food, that does not necessarily mean you need to avoid foods.   Separate issue: even though sulfa is different than sulfites used to preserve foods, sometimes a person who has a sulfa allergy might also have an allergy to sulfites in foods.  Some foods you can find sulfites in include: sauerkraut, wine, different kinds of shell fish and dried fruits. If you react to any of these; i suggest you speak with an allergist so that you can be formally tested.

i had a blood test a few days ago and in the results my ast level came back at a 69. never used drugs or alcohol. no signs of infection came back in the results. should i get further testing? also i am almost 5mo postpartum.

Could be infection: or reaction to medication, or gallbladder stones. Yes, you should get checked for the source of the elevation.
