Very: Usually tubal ligation failures will occur within the first year or so. Tubes don't normally  "grow  back" together after that.

YES!!: Sorry about the caps, but want to be clear. If IVF is available to you, it is still very successful at 37 y.o. Over age 36 tubal reversal is not to be recommended unless IVF is not an option. Good wishes.

Tubal ligation: You cycles have returned to what they would naturally be without hormone manipulation. Bleeding after intercourse, however, needs to be investigated. You should see your gynecologist.

Bacterial vaginosis: Foul smelling discharge needs to be evaluated. The most common cause is a nonsexually transmitted overgrowth of bacteria called bacterial vaginosis. Testing for other sexually transmitted disease may need to be done as well.  This vaginal odor is not related to having your tubes tied.

Surrogacy: Its where you find someone that will carry a baby for you.Your hubby's sperm is added to eggs harvested from you and they use IVF to plant the result in a surrogate. This is quite expensive and not covered by insurance, but it is a way for you to have a kid. Otherwise you are done.

Yes, : Yes, a tubal ligation can be reversed. But at age 47 years old you are not likely to have viable eggs in your ovaries.  The chances of natural conception and carrying a pregnancy to term at this age would be so low, that i don't know why you would consider this surgery.  Mother nature only designed us to bear children until a certain age.

Records release: You need to execute a records release to any doctors or hospitals that you may have received care from in the past. An Operative report in those records will determine if the Fallopian tubes were in fact ligated or interrupted.  If all else fails, a GYN MD can perform either a HSG dye study or  a Laparoscopy that visualizes  the Fallopian tubes for ligation.

Anastomosis: Micro tubal anastomosis is very successful when performed by well trained reproductive endocrinologists. The success rates depend upon where the ligation is on the tubes and what length of tube is left after the anastomosis procedure.

Limited choices: If you truly want to raise another child you can always adopt. You have answered your question without realizing it.If you can't afford to have your own, you can foster other kids who need temporary or long term placement or adopt.
