Accepted Answer

No: there are virtually no false positives in hair testing, since it is done with GC/MS or other comparable sophisticated confirmatory tests.  Doxylamine can cause false positives tests for Methadone and PCP on screening tests, but NOT on the confirmatory tests.

Urine drug: The drug  screen just comes back positive for opiates. It doesn't differentiate between different opiates.

Urine tox screen: We drug test all our ladies in labor and delivery.  It seems to pick up anyone who has used anything  in the last week or so. Of course the baby's stool test is the confirmation test.

Why?: I don't see that you are on this drug but I guess for information only, it could be picked up in the urine up to 4 days after it was last used. This medication can be very addictive and should not be used unless specifically prescribed by a physician and only for the condition it is supposed to treat. Good luck.

Unlikely, but: it depends on several factors.  Hair follicle drug screens are affected by:  1. time between consumption and hair collection, 2. type of hair collected (from scalp or body, as growth rates differ), 3. type of test -- the "standard or 5-panel" test generally does not include a test for alcohol.  Consuming only "one shot" or 1-2 ounces of hard alcohol probably is not enough to cause a positive result

Only if they : Are specifically looking for it which is doubtful. It is also not illegal if you have a prescription for it. It is not a controlled substance. Best wishes.

Yes.: Detailed testing of hair (not hair follicle) should disclose exposure to these pharmaceuticals. There is however not much clinical value to such testing.

Probably Not: As far as i know there are no barbiturates in midrin. One of the components does breakdown to Chloral Hydrate but that substance is seldom tested for as the actual drug is not frequently tested for except in forensic situations as for when a date-rape drug is suspected. Chloral hydrate is seldom prescribed-is the drug used in a mickey finn.

Accepted Answer

Not likely: If you've been using drugs in the last few months, it can be detected in hair exam.  None of the marketed products that supposedly cleanse your system of drug residue are guaranteed to fool such lab testing.  This at least gives you new incentive to stop using drugs which can harm your health anyway.  Good luck to you.
