travelling from uk to thailand flight in febuary. as i have mild asthma if i get a flu jab in uk produced for the northern hemisphere can the flu jab affect the immune system leaving you open to catch other viruses while body produces antibodies?

No: The flu shot doesn't weaken your system to other challenges. It would not change your susceptibility to other new germs. If you catch something you would anyway.

By doing so, asthma can decrease exercise tolerance, cause increased rates of pneumonia in certain patients, and can worsen heartburn or reflux.

Steroids: Asthma itself will not make you gain weight, but frequent exacerbations that lead to the use of oral steroids will, as oral steroids make you gain weight. Your best options are to see an athma specialist to control your asthma adequately and avoid the use of oral steroids as much as possible.

my wife  feel pain all over her body after using pernisolone tablets for 7 days to treat asthma together with erythroped (7days) it's this normal?

The flu?: Muscle aches tend to occur when Prednisone or Prednisolone (steroids) are stopped too abruptly.  I doubt that the aches and pains were due to the antibiotic or the antibiotic in combination with the steroid pill.  It is possible that your wife had the flu that caused the aches and the medicines were not the cause of these symptoms.

i've always had an annoying cough.i was diagnosed w/ asthma 2 years ago but i breathe hard and sometimes twist my body to get air, how can i control it?

Talk with your doc: As soon as you can. Asthma can start as an annoying cough but  can get worse so that it's hard for you to breathe. Different inhalers and pills can help heal your airways and prevent asthma. Also, you & your doc can figure out other causes of shortness of breath. Think about your surroundings [dust, animals, smoke, fumes, mildew/mold]. Any new triggers during the last 2 years? Hope this helps.

Yes: Allergies and asthma can cause you to cough violently, sneeze frequently or use your chest muscles to try to breathe more deeply. Any of these can cause aches, strains, etc.

Accepted Answer

Not really: Asthma involves excess inflammation that irritates the airways, producing mucus and bronchospasm. More on the lines of an "over active" immune system. Well-done studies show antibiotics do not help asthma flare ups. BUT: mucus plugging of the airways can lead to atelectasis, and, in theory, pneumonia, though that is the exception, not the rule, unless other factors present.
