See Your Doctor: Your 10 mos old has "very thick toenails since birth". Congenital anomalies of the nails, hair, skin, teeth can be caused by a group of genetic defects called Ectodermal Dysplasias, of which there are numerous types. Involved body parts can be poorly developed or absent. Nails can be thick, misshapen or rough but usually cause no problems. See your doctor for diagnosis, genetic history, &amp; therapy.

: I woule  try wearing open toed shoes or sandals without socks.  Fungi love damp sweaty toes. Ifr yours is one should start getting better soon. Worth a try I would think. Get back with us in 6 months or your Dr. Stop drinking if you do (for fattty liver).

3 year old cries hysterically when i clip his toenails. takes 4 people to hold him.he screams in pain and says it hurts could he really be in pain?

Yes: No matter the age some people have very sensitive feet.  Make sure there is nothing else wrong. Don't put the child through the trauma of holding high/her down cut them when asleep and be gentle.

i cut my toenails & a shard flew & went into my left eyeball. i did 4-5 eye washes, did eye drops & lifted my top eyelid over my bottomi have no clue if its out. what else could i do? all optometrists are closed for the night?

Continue to watch : Let me start by saying if the line is on the nail it would eventually disappear as the nail grows out. To be present for years it would have to be under the nail. Present for years without change I would continue to watch it. Next time at doctors office bring it to their attention

: If you are asymptomatic and afraid of surgery just observe it chances are great you will remain well. No not all ingrowing require surgery.

I notice that you are 50 yo and if u have been diagnosed with Sever’s disease, I recommend you get a second opinion. Sever’s affects the unfused apophysis of the calcaneus (this growth center is located at the posterior or back portion of the bone) or heel. The child will experience heel pain

There are a few: There are several conditions that can cause the foot to turn inward.  Metarsus adductus is one where the long bones of the foot turn inward.  High arched feet can make the entire foot turn in.  But many times feet turning inward, especially during walking (intoe walking or pigeon toed walking) is often from the leg or the hip.  I recommend seeing a podiatrist for further evaluation.
