ANS: if you mean your allergy showed up as severe hives and SOB and you almost died then no do not take it. If you mean you upchucked with it then might be OK. Trying is only way to find out. If 1 I would not try. Discuss with team.

It's : The promethazine that is the problem.  Can cause serious arrhythmias.  Stop the cough med and call your doctor

Prometh c Cod: While not impossible, It would be highly unusual to encounter any serious adverse side effects at this dosage in the standard US concentration. Transient somnolence, dizziness, constipation, dry mouth, blurred vision, urinary retention and other minor side effects may be noted.

Cough : Both contain an antihistamine. Theraflu doesn't contain an effective cough suppressant but promethazine-codeine does. If you have a dry irritating and persistent cough, I would take this suppressant syrup and I don't think it will be a problem to take it again according to the dosage  instructions.

Most likely safe...: It is always hard to gauge how safe a medication is during pregnancy. Both of the drugs you mentioned are class c which is defined as drugs that have not been shown to be harmful to fetuses, but data is limiting; use if benefits outweigh potential risks. I guess i would ask how bad was your stomach pain from the cough. If it wasn't too bad, i wouldn't take anything (the safest alternative).

Be a regular patient: Being a regular patient of the doctor for many years, with no signs of addiction (no smoking, no weed, no drinking problem, no overuse of narcotics, no party drugs, etc...) can help in one's request for potentially abusable medications. Some people use promethazine to mix party drug concoctions, meaning doctors are hesitant to prescribe it because some people are using it as a party drug.

Not likely: It's more the codeine that does that part. Alone, it will sedate, help reduce motion sickness, perhaps migraine, agitation and some other emotional distress symptoms and allergic reactions of some sorts. Discuss all this w/ your Dr. Understand why they want which effects and all the pros and cons. Ask about alternatives too.

: The cause of cough needs to determined and treated. The medications you mention may not be the appropriate ones. You may try steam/water vapor inhalation to help in clearing respiratory secretions.
