i have a abcess on my arm underneath the elbow and its gotten pretty big and its really hard and red jus wanted to get a opinion on what i should do??

See doctor ASAP: Abscess diagnosed by a doctor? If growing, pain increasing, etc, check back with her. How big is "large"? If over an inch or so and you haven't seen a doctor, do it now. You probably need an antibiotic, maybe surgery to drain pus. Something like this could be quite dangerous if not properly cared for. Do it today; if your doc isn't available and nobody on call, go to urgent care or ER.

if i had a stitch abscess on my elbow, would the stitch be visible in an mri?  if the abscess were drained would it fill back up? quickly?

The suture: Itself will not be seen. Staples can show up as metal artifact. A drained abscess usually resolves as antibiotic therapy is given at the same time. So, usually the abscess shouldn't come back.

sterile abscess from missed meth shot inside elbow. about the size of a 1/4.  4 weeks, no drain no head. how long can it take to dissipate?

Be seen!: There are a variety of things this could be from an infection to a sterile bursitis.  The only way to really understand how to manage this, is for it to be evaluated more thoroughly.

hi, i had an abcess removed 3 saturday's ago, since then i've been unable to stretch my arm. pain is on the inside of the left elbow and forearm help!

Inflammation: Is the are still inflamed?  I would continue to try and stretch the area lightly daily and see if it improves. If this is too painful, I think you should have it looked at again.

Infection: Abscesses are usually caused by bacterial infections, so you will have signs/symptoms of inflammation (redness, warmth over area, possibly fever). You should see a dr so  they can drain & give you antibiotics if needed.

what causes an abscess?  i have one in my arm and it's leaking puss non stop and i've been squeezing it to help get it out but it's a lot and hurts.

Drainage- stop squee: Abscess caused by an infection of bacteria. Squeezing usually makes it worse and spreads the infection into otherwise healthy areas. Drainage is the only treatment. Heat may help and keep it covered and clean. I will have patients wash it with hydrogen peroxide. If it is bad then see your doctor to have it opened and drained.

Abcesss: Sound like you should see a doctor in person. There are several things to consider does it need to be drained, why does it reoccur- it can be a cyst in the skin that needs removal?

May be psoriasis: Hard to say without seeing. The presence of thickened red scaly plaques on the elbows & knees can be common sites for psoriasis. I would see a dermatologist to have it checked.

Dermatomycosis: Any of the superficial skin fungi can affect the elbow.
