i think my spleen might be enlarged, but i can't see my doctor for about a week. i'm kind of in pain so i'm not sure what to do,should i go to er?

Yes, go to the ER: If you are in moderate to severe pain then go to the ER. Pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong.  While it is unlikely to be your spleen more likely causes could be appendicitis, gall stones, kidney stones, ulcer or ovarian cyst amongst other things.

can mildly enlarged liver and spleen not be something serious?  currently waiting to see doctor for results and i'm freaking out :)

ABSOLUTELY: Very often this is a minor viral illness/infection , something like mononucleosis.  Rarely is it something serious at your age if you're in good health otherwise. If your doctor thought it was more serious, they'd likely get you into the office immediately to go over things. Since they're not too concerned from what you say here, I wouldn't get too excited. Relax, wait for your appointment.

i recently had mono, 3 days of sore throat, and my doctor warned me about an enlarged spleen. i was wondering how long i should wait to go to the gym and if there is a way to check for an enlarged spleen myself?

: If fairly large CT will see. If larger your Dr can feel it. If very large you can feel it.  Place fingers at lower L rib cage. Take a really deep breath and you may feel a bump to your fingers from the spleen. But a spleen this big would be rare in mono. Discuss with your Dr. Go to uptodate.com and read more about Mono. i have borderline lymphoma, therefore my spleen is enlarged. i recently had a colonoscopy done and the doctor was only able to go 20 cm. was it due to the spleen?

Not enough info but: It isn't very likely that an enlarged spleen would impede the advancement of a colonoscope only after 20cms.  There is no "borderline" lymphoma", but some are not very aggressive.

Soon: Living without a spleen either after surgery fir trauma or other therapeutic reason, or decreased function of the spleen, for whatever reason, immunizations: against pneumococcal, meningitis, h flu should be administered + flu shots every year,  chills, temperature (101 and above) fatigue, any , abnormal symtpom warrants immediate help, overwhelming post splenectomy infection could be the case, .

my spleen is swollen, and my hgb is at 7.  can i be losing my blood in my spleen? will doctors be able to see the blood taken by my spleen?

Hematologist: You should see a hematologist. That level of anemia is serious, an an enlarged spleen is also indicative of a problem related in your blood system.  Anemia is usually due to bleeding, impaired production, or hemolysis. Hemolysis means abnormal consumption of red cells in your spleen or blood vessels. There are blood tests and ultrasound studies to investigate further.

Borderline??: If the doctor can feel the spleen it strongly suggests that it is enlarged and therefore abnormal.

Hi CRP/ LN: Could be mononucleosis, malaria or other infection or rarely could be issues like lymphoma. get mononucleosis titers IgM, igG, , get CBC, thick smear, blood cultures rest , may need biopsy if does not resolve in a month. Follow up with your doctor,
