i was on terbinafine for two weeks 250mg now i'm having pain in my sides. is liver damage common with only two weeks of terbinafine? i'm worried. sometimes i would double a dose if i missed a dose but never had history of liver problems before

See DR: Significant liver toxicity from terbinafine is rare. Your symptoms are probably something else. No harm from missed doses, no need to double dose. Why taking it? How long do you plan to continue? Do not take if you already have active hepatitis.

Lamisil (terbinafine): Liver functions are normal. A few weeks of Lamisil (terbinafine) should not be a problem.

Rare Rare Rare: One single pill will most likely cause no liver trouble. Diflucan (fluconazole) is a very effective treatment for vaginal yeast infection for 2 reasons. Not only does it take care of the vaginal yeast overgrowth which causes terrible itching; it also kills off bowel yeast which may feed into future yeast infections. It is a very safe medication, and works very well for yeast infection.

Nothing specifc: Drug induced liver injury from Rezulin would appear similar to injury from other drugs and it would include abnormal liver tests  and possibly jaundice.

Yes: Toxicity to liver, kidney, intestine, bone marrow, etc., is related to dosing and duration of exposure. Must not drink alcohol. Dosed once a week. Daily folic acid reduces toxicity. Various treatments exist for discoid lupus. Protect from sun.

: Terbinafine has been rarely associated with liver failure but can interact with many other medications. If you're concerned about liver damage have a panel of liver enzymes performed for peace of mind. I expect that they would all be nirmal &amp; you'd have no liver damage.
