Swelling: Swelling like this can be mild fluid retention from salt excess, dietary changes, and if recurrent and mild, is harmless, especially if heart, kidney, lung and medicine side effects are ruled out.

Cold hands and feet: Cold hands and feet are common in young women.  They may be related to drugs, medications, stress and cigarette smoke.  When there is pain, numbness, tingling and changes in color, Raynaud's syndrome should be considered.

Doctor can evaluate: Raynaud's phenomenon is a well known cause of cold hands and feet due to spasm of blood vessels supplying blood to the hands or feet. Other conditions can decrease blood flow to the extremities, leading to cold hands and feet. A primary care doctor can evaluate for anemia, peripheral artery disease, hormonal imbalances, autoimmune disorders, smoking (nicotine), drug side effects, etc...

Not random: There is always a reason for swelling. It seems random to you most likely because you have not discovered what is responsible yet.  The usual suspects are diet, salt intake, positional, exercise related, arthritic, vascular disease, cardiac problems.....If you have ruled out the obvious ones then i would suggest seeing your primary care physician.

Awaken: Anytime i hear someone say their hand awakens them from sleep, i think of carpal tunnel syndrome...Often tingling, numbness, or even hand pain...

A # of things: There are a number of things that can cause this.  Electrolyte imbalances or rheumatoid arthritis are two possibilities. Go to your primary care physician to get a diagnosis and treatment.

Swelling: Heart and kidney conditions are only 2 reasons for edema (swelling). Joint problems (arthritis), allergy issues, venous issues (mostly in the legs/feet) are other commonly seen reasons. I see you are on methylprednisolone, which can cause fluid retention as well.

Stop Wining.: More than likely you are experiencing an allergic reaction or alcohol intolerance. If you can drink other alcoholic drinks without the same reactions, then it is not alcohol intolerance. Sulfite is often considered the prime suspect, but if you can eat dried fruits or lunchmeat, without a reaction, it's not sulfites. The more common culprits include glycoprotein, yeast, histamines or  bacteria.
