Staph/heat: These often start as simple infections at the base of a hair root caused by surface germs like staph. The primary goal is to get them to come to the skin surface &amp; drain. Moist heat applications can help this but they sometimes need to be cut open to drain if large. Some benefit from oral antibiotics. The harder lumps can be old ones that are in the process of healing.

In that location: possibly a Sebaceous Cyst ( Plugged sweat gland) and the only sure way of removal is surgery (MINOR)

See your doctor: You have symptoms which could be serious and should see your physician.  He/she will listen to you, do a physical examinarion, run some tests, and let you know what's going on.

Folliculitis?: It may be infection or inflammation of the hair follicles in the groin area which is folliculitis.  If the area is red, swollen or there is pus draining then you need to see a doctor right away for an antibiotic.  For now, avoid shaving the area (if you have been), avoid tight-fitting clothing that rubs the area.

Different options: The leg has a lot of things in it both in the skin and below it.  Sweat glands, hair follicles and skin cysts as well as lymph nodes, fatty tissue, tendons and other things.  Is the lump growing, inflamed, painful, painless, draining, recurrent or constant, moveable or fixed...?  Each of these (and many more) will provide your doc the answers as to what it is and what needs to be done.

Probably: The skin of your inner thighs is likely being chronically irritated from rubbing together or against your pants.  This causes post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, a darkening of the skin.  Preventing this rubbing by losing weight and wearing loose pants will likely allow this discoloration to resolve over time, and will yield many other health benefits.  Good luck!

Wt. Loss &amp; Cellulite: Cellulite is due to fat filling the superficial compartments of the female sub dermal  area. Therefore, weight loss helps this significantly as it reduces the fill. You generally have to get to a BMI of about 22, however. At your age, you should not have much problem with skin shrinkage, even in the inner thigh area.

It : It can be considered localized adiposity.  Unfortunately excessive fat collection is determined genetically as you gain extra weight.  Some gain it in their hips, others their buttocks and yet others, their thigh or abdomen.  At this point, you are unfortunately unable to spot lose weight in one specific area.  These areas of localized adiposity can potentially be treated with traditional or ultrasonic liposuction as long as the skin laxity is not too decreased in that area.  If the skin is too loose or relaxed, you may then require a thigh lift type of procedure to get rid of extra skin.
