Pain: The easiest way to tell if there is a kidney infection is to have your urine tested for infection.  A simple urinalysis can show if bacteria or white blood cells are present.  The answer may require more testing however ( a urine culture or blood tests even).

: The urinary tract is the tract lining the passageway from the kidneys, the inner urinary tubes (ureters) bladder and the outer urinary tube(urethra) So UTI can occur anywhere in this. UTI's: Although Adderall is not necessarily bad for your kidneys, it is node to sometimes increase the frequency of urinary tract infections. If you are having symptoms of a possible UTI while on Adderall, you need to get your urine checked. Good luck.

can drinking a lot of alcohol cause kidney pain or uti/kidney infection? drank a lot last night and now my kidneys really hurting.. is it related?

No connection : There is likely no connection, other than that your drinking may have stopped your antibiotic from working on a preexisting kidney infection. If you are in a lot of pain and are running a fever, you should go to the er now in case you have a kidney infection that could spread to your blood. Also, you need to have kidney stones ruled out. Good luck to you and take care of yourself. Alcohol causes more problems than it's worth.

Seek help.: Severe pain is always a worrisome symptom, especially if it doesn't leave. Kidney stone pain is typically colicky, severe, can be back or abdomen, and radiates into the groin. For pain control, urgent care of ER tonight. Otherwise, schedule to see dr tomorrow if possible. Try straining all urine with computer paper taped into a funnel with no opening at the point to trap any sand or stone.

Nephrolithiasis?: Leukocytes (white blood cells) in the urine can occur with numerous conditions, including infection. Not sure how your doctor excluded infection, but it may be there. You might have kidney stones, some other form of obstructive uropathy. Go and see a urologist and be evaluated appropriately. Good luck

i took macrobid 2x/5 days for a severe uti. i have interstitial cystitis & now have kidney pain.would clindamyacin help w/kidney infection?

Different Antibiotic: If you have kidney pain, you need to be re-evaluated for a kidney infection.  Clindamycin is NOT going to help by itself and is NOT the standard of outpatient therapy for a possible kidney infection.  You should have your urine rechecked and make sure that they do a urine culture in addition to the urinalysis.  They can start you on Macrobid twice daily until the results are back.

on cipro for bladder infection (and assumed kidney infection due to kidney pain). todays acr and gfr tests are good but ionized calcium is 5.2 and phosphorus is 4.4. are these concerning levels?

: Those numbers are on the high side of normal which may be present when your body volume is low. 
Furthermore, lab result variation is common. If your doctor suspect anything, the test will be repeated for confirmation.
You should not concern too much.

Yes: Have your doctor check urine. It is an easy test to perform in the office and can easily be treated if it is urinary tract infection. If you feel really bad tonight, going to the emergency room would be okay.
