Possibly hydrocortis: The most important thing to do is stop picking and licking. Saliva can be pretty irritating. In addition a gentle topical steroid, like 1% Hydrocortisone in an ointment base, not cream, could help. It could be applied 2-4 times per day.

Winter dry skin: Any form of moisturizer is going the help, the thicker the better. If you have significant cracks in your skin, the addition of a prescription strength cortisone (like traimcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream or ointment) will help a lot as well. Otherwise avoid getting your skin wet or soaked.

Dermatologist: True "cold sores" are caused by a virus. I would suggest that you consult with a dermatologist who can go over your complete medical history, medications (if you are taking any), habits, and what you have been using on your lips and its effects.  A specialist who can actually examine you and has more information would be the best provider to help resolve your issue.

See a doctor: Eruptions of this nature may be infective, allergic, non-infectious inflammatory and even rarely due to underlying malignancies.  Working out the cause for these may take a prolonged investigation by an experienced clinician.  See your pcp and if they cannot handle this they may refer you to a dermatologist or allergist.  Good luck.

Dry cough and wheeze can also be related to asthma, and reflux.

Sounds like asthma: You likely have bronchial asthma which is often worsened by breathing in cold and dry air. Interestingly dust mites population usually increases from early winter to early spring and thus you may have a dust mite allergy as well. You need to get a lung function test and may need a controller drug for asthma at least during the winter months. The metallic taste s-&gt; ? sinusitis or gum disease.
