Not likely: Amox is usually effective against strep bacteria. You should be fine as long as you finish your course completely and are not rexposed after you're done. Make sure to wash hands frequently and do not share anything with the infected person.

Toy ?: The germ can remain in saliva on an object until it dries out. It would die at some point &amp; not be infective. People do get recurrent strep if they don't toss their toothbrush, which does tend to trap saliva/germs &amp; retain moisture. I can't think of a toy that would. If you have ones of concern you can steam them with a clothing steamer &amp; kill any germs.

i get strep throat often. i avoid sharing drink, utensils, ect with people which has helped alot, but still seem to catch it once in a while.?

HAND TO FACE TRANSFR: I know a psychologist who studied human behavior & found the average adult touched his/her face with unwashed hands 6x/hr & nose 2x/hr.Anytime we do so we can pass germs from what we touch to areas that allow germs access to the nose & mouth. You can do what you can to avoid it, but strep is carried  by at least 5% of asymptomatic people continuously.

There are: always alternatives since strep is usually sensitive to many antibiotics (plus the fact that even a strep throat WILL GET BETTER without antibiotics at all !

If you have true streptococcus bacterial infections (verified by testing) often, you or a member of your household may be a carrier. That is, your immune system lets strep bacteria live like squatters in your throat, instead of killing them.

: Unless your son's diagnosis was based on throat swab he does not likely have Strep. I have nver heard of it being sexualy transimitted/ Go to CDC.gov and review.

Strep throat: If you develop a sore throat then see a provider for a throat swab to see if you have strep which requires an antibiotic
