There : There are several possibilities which include acanthosis nigricans, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, or an inflammatory condition such as intertrigo, psoriasis, eczema, or fungal infection.  Difficult to answer without a picture. I would recommend you consider seeing a dermatologist for a careful evaluation to arrive at a diagnosis.  I hope that helps.

: You can give some specific facts. If unexpected, must not be protracted course. I hope she was in peace at the time of death. Death without sickness of the body and distressed mental condition is not very common and if one can believe that something like death could be good then it is a good death and one I wish for myself. : See a TMJ specialist for proper diagnosis, not yours. You may have a TMJ problem as well as muscle strain. Place hot compress over area for now but go for a complete workup, diagnosis and treatment.

Different options: There are many options available nowadays for metastatic prostate cancer besides the good old androgen blocker medication. Among of them include- chemotherapy - like taxotere, jevtana-other oral meds- like zytiga (abiraterone acetate) (abiraterone), xtandi, Provenge vaccine- all optional and available for your husband. Some other therapies including radioimmunotherapy /nuclear medicine are also in the pipeline.
