on metronidazle for a vaginal bacterial imbalance and i wasn't told not to drink alcohol while on it by my doctor. but i'm having bad hot flashes now and i read the instructions and it says not to drink on it cause it can cause sickness or hot flashe?

Did you drink?: That is why it says not to drink on it.  You should also avoid alcohol for 3 days after you finish the metronidazole. You will survive and the symptoms will pass, but make sure you don't drink any more alcohol.

Vasodilatation: Alcohol is a vasodilator. Certain races have  poor ability to metabolise alcohol and can get facial flushing too.

happens rarely every few months after drinking alcohol. wake up & my head feels super super hot. try to walk and can't, as head feels super hot - still conscious however. will crawl to bathroom. after 20 mins, back to normal. any thoughts? thanks?

: Alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever, so stay away from it. It will destroy your brain cells, damage testicular cells that make testosterone, facilitate development of cancer in many organs, cause hepatitis, cirrhosis and pancreatitis etc. There is no safe level of alcohol intake. Quit while you are ahead.

Withdrawal: If you are a heavy frequent user of alcohol you may be going through withdrawal which includes increased anxiety heart palpitations and feeling flushed. You may want to seek out a psychiatrist and see a doctor to evaluate further.

hi i am a 28yr old male. the fronts of my knees get very hot and i feel blood pumping through them sometimes in an evening. no pain or swelling. i've noticed it specifically when drinking alcohol. should i be concerned? i also kneel a lot in my job!

Knee symptoms: If there's no discoloration, swelling or marked tenderness, I attribute this symptom to knee sensitivity from your occupation. Alcohol does dilate the arteries and these sensitive areas of overuse apparently have increased sensing of increase in blood circulating through the blood vessels in and around the knees.

Neuropathy: These are symptoms of peripheral neuropathy that can happen ith chronic alcoholism and diabetes, check your itamin B12 and folic aid levels, you may need medicine to control your symptoms.

Hot : Hot flashes or vasomotor symptoms occur in response to falling estrogen levels and other hormonal changes in menopause.  The most effective treatment is hormone (estrogen) replacement therapy (hrt).  However, a large medical trial demonstrated that there are significant risks to hrt and therefore most doctors do not recommend it except in cases of terrible or debilitating hot flashes or some other isolated cases.  There are some other meds that help limit hot flashes and certainly soy based Estrogens (think edamame and soybeans) have been shown to help, but most women fine that the hot flashes fade over a couple years after menopause.   Speak to you doctor about treatment options.

Passing out: Sounds like some type of near syncopal episode. I would suggest you see your doctor. This can be for various reasons.
