my back/rib cage hurts left side. yesterday it felt like a charlie horse now it's very sore n tender w every move . no injuries what is causing this?

muscle spasms: The most common reason for this complaint is muscle spasms of the intercostal muscles between the ribs, which is most frequently due to nerve irritation.  This is best treated with anti-inflammatories such as Naproxen to decrease the inflammation of both the nerve and the muscle.

Its definitely muscl: strain BUT have it checked to ensure you haven't broken any bones in the C spine.
If its was a simple strain, then its already been 2 months since injury and it should have been greatly improved.
Besides soreness and swelling, are you getting any other symptoms?
I suggest have it seen, so as to remove any doubt that a bony injury occurred.

Lump in Throat: See an ENT - head & neck specialists. There are a number of possibilities - some serious (especially if you use tobacco).

Acute Abdomen: If the symptoms described started after a horse fell on the abdomen, there might be a bleed somewhere or a fracture of the pelvis. Please seek urgent medical help at ER.

blunt force trauma from horse riding accident 12 days ago. 1 week of horrendous abdominal muscle pain now ok but left side tenderness and discomfort still. slight swelling and can feel lump under left rib cage which is tender to touch. no other sympt?

: It is difficult to assess such symptoms without a physical exam. The lump may be evidence of a rib fracture starting to heal.

Muscle strain: Probably nothing serious 
try walking backwards as it stretches out the leg better
do hot & cold packs and wrap it with plastic wrap at bed time 
if not better in a few days then should check with doctor.

Massage: Massage is a good thing to do but from your history that you supplied I think it would be wise to see a physical therapist. Did you talk to your family physician about the charlie horse as to what he/she might think was the cause? Could be an electrolyte imbalance. Do that first.
