Har to say.: Hard to say. Teen years can be a time of marked anguist. Possible depressive signs/ sxs:  isolation, anger, irritability. Poor self esteem, , self-mutilation, drop in grades, opposition, drug or alcohol use, risk -taking, sadness, change in sleep pattern, weight loss or gain & loss of interest in activities are all possible symptoms. Be sure to check for thoughts of suicide. Eval may be best option.

Yes bleed/depression: Hormone imbalance would almost have to be a part of midcycle bleeding, but there many other facters too. Would suggest saliva hormone testing for starting. Then you need guidence from someone skilled in helping to obtain hormone balance. Depression is very often ass. With hormone imbalance.

Either: Both genders, no matter what age, can have hormonal imbalance.  Likewise, both genders can experience depression.  There are laboratory tests to help determine which is the problem.  Consult your primary care physician or OB/GYN.

There may be things that the gynecologist recommends that could help your symptoms. After a thorough evaluation, your gynecologist might recommend a psychiatric assessment.  Perimenopause can definately lead to mood changes in some women (to included both depressed mood and anxiety).
