i was just diagnosed w/a 3.6 cm dilated ascending aorta in the hospital at 33. i have celiac artery stenosis, thoracic hemicord impingement & genetic celiac disease & hyperinsulinemia. i've been through 2 bariatric surgeries. any of these connected?

Without being able: to review the actual angiogram of the vessel it would be impossible to offer risk or difficulty estimates. You need to discuss this with your health care provider who performed the angiogram and suggested the intervention.

Talk to the surgeon: NMS but it appears that you may have an ischemic problem causing the pain.  I presume that you will need surgical correction but your surgeon will be the best person to advise you on the next step. As with all surgeries, I favor getting a 2nd opinion.

? celiac ischemia: You could have decreased blood flow to parts of your lower GI tract despite the artery being patent;  having angulations can reduce flow even with patency.  You need a work up by a GI MD

Causes of colitis: Inflammation (infection, ischemic, ibd) of large intestine = colitis. Specifically, ischemic colitis occurs when there is decreased blood flow to the gut, due either to vasospasm (seldom recurrent) or stenosis/occlusion (frequently recurrent). Don't ignore the possibility of recurrence here--since transmural ischemia or mesenteric ischemia can be serious &amp; often starts with "intestinal angina.

Yes: Stenosis of the celiac artery involves reduce blood flow and nutrition to a part of the GI tract;  this can result in reduced peristalsis and back up of contents causing nausea.  You should see a gastrointerologist for alternatives to dietary treatment

Depends: Celiac artery is one the major arterial supply to the gastrointestinal tract mainly liver, spleen and stomach. There is typically extensive collateral circulation/connections between the celiac and the other arteries like the sma(superior mesenteric artery). If you have no abdominal pain and the occlusion was found incidentally then no worries , otherwise check with your doctor/surgeon.

what could you tell me about celiac artery aneurysms and repairs?

They are uncommon.: The celiac axis (or artery) is one of the shortest named arteries.  It branches very quickly into the hepatic and splenic arteries.  Because it is so short, it is uncommon for it to develop an aneurysm.
They can occur and when their size is appropriate, will require open surgical repair, with an interposition bypass to replace the aneurysmal artery. It is a big operation_ should be expertly done.

does severe restenisis of celiac artery need intervention/restenting if it's not causing any symptoms? if sent was blocked completely, wouldn't the collateral arteries (sma, etc) provide enough blood if they are open?

: I'm not sure of the existence of strong collateral circulation in your case prior to your stenting procedure or whether you've developed symptoms since the restenosis. Your interventionalist and your vascular surgeon are by far to best answer your question and advise you.
