Yes: with caveats.  You must continue any medications you are taking to prevent blood clots. You are at increased risk of clots so you want to be in a seat that allows you to reposition your legs during flight, so economy is likely not for you.  You must get up and walk every 10-15 minutes and flex your calves to get the blood flowing.  It may be a good idea to tell the cabin crew your needs.

Which?: Was it MTHFR 677 or MTHFR 1298? Neither is strongly related to miscarriage, if at all. Usually there are other reasons than MTHFR.

MTHFR mutation: The genetic finding can possibly increase clotting problems. The mthfr protein is responsible for metabolism of homocysteine.  High homocysteine levels can aggravate vessel walls causing a higher risk of clotting.  The high homocysteine levels can be treated with folate (folic acid) supplementation, which should decrease the risk.

Internist, heart dr: This mutation causes a defective gene which codes for the enzyme mhft which metabolizes a derivative of folate (folic acid) which is important in the conversion of homocysteine to methionine. High homocysteine levels have been associated w/ an elevated risk of blood clots and atherosclerosis. An internist or cardiologist can help treat you for this condition.

Yes: There are plenty of other possible causes of xanthomas in kids, elbows ; butt. Especially if they're on the knees, some bloodwork would be a great idea.

No: Gene mutations are still being researched and from my opinion, I don't think we're even close to scratching the surface of the miraculous human genome.   That being said, mutations are a normal part of our evolution.  Is therea reason you're concerned?  If we know, you will likely get an answer sooner.

Don't worry but act!: This is fairly common- about 10-15% of people have it. Many enjoy good health but it increases risk of depression, anxiety, fatigue, chronic pain and fatty liver disease. Depends: Depends on what your actual needs and deficiencies are. Usual recommendations for 1298 are an adequate but not excessive protein diet, vitamin c, magnesium, and b6. What you are on is more for the mthfr 677 snp.
