i plucked my butt hair a few days ago and i think it may have gone infected(anal abscess?). should i get myself checked or will home remedy work?

Perianal abscess: It is not uncommon that by plucking a hair in the perianal area that an abscess can develop.  The area is constantly contaminated and at risk for infection.  Should that happen, warm sitz baths 2-3x/day help bring vascular supply to the area needed for healing.  If the site doesn't resolve, then antibiotics may be needed.  Rare for surgical intervention.

Warm compresses: Take a hand towel and soak it in warm water and leave it on the abscess for 5-10 minutes at a time. This will help bring it to a head.

In addition, going to the emergency room just wastes previous tax dollars.

I : I am answering this three days after you posed this question and ten days after your problem began. A skin abscess usually starts as a red, painful area under the skin. It will gradually become harder and more consolidated. You may not be able to see a pocket of pus in the center. If  your have an abcess there is a good possiblity that you need to see a doctor to have an incision and drainage procedure done.  If you have something that is more like a pimple, that is likely to go away on it's own. I can not tell what you have by the description.

Virus and Stress: Viatmin B12 or vitamin d deficiency.  Take a multi-vitamin everyday,  spend some time in the sun,  and find ways decrease stress.  Apply abreva (over the counter) cream as soon as you feel the cold sore.  This will shorten (or in some cases get rid of) the cold sore.

TMJ: Until you see a dentist for a proper evaluation and appropriate treatment, if necessary: soft diet, no gum chewing, try not to yawn or scream, good posture, hot moist towel to the outside of your face just in front of your ears for 10-20 minutes four times a day and Aleve, (naproxen) Advil, Motrin or aspirin for 2-3 days.

Your dr can: Prescribe valtrex (valacyclovir). Melissa officinalis or lemon balm (cream) has been shown in european studies to help expedite cold sore healing. It can reduce healing time by 1/2. Studies also show regular use can help v recurrences. Brief supplementation w lysine 1, 000mg orally 3x a day at the onset, can hasten healing. Your dermatologist can provide laser treatments.

Orthopedic Dentist: The cause of grinding is rarely correctly treated.  Most dentist make a bite appliance for you to wear to keep from grinding away the teeth.  This is only treating the symptom and not the cause.   The usual cause is the roof of your mouth (palate) is too narrow in comparison to the lower jaw.  The muscles not finding their home position keep searching = bruxism results.
