Pretty reliable: most people who turn positive would be positive at least borderline by day 14-20. There are uncommon cases of over 1 month to turn positive. NOte that the incidence of this is far lower than the liklihood of someone Totally Lying about What They are Doing !.
Oh, sorry, that's for the antibody. The antigen/other measures of virus should be done TOGETHER with antibody. REALLY low risk of false negat

: It is good that the test was negative. It is recommended to get a 4th gen combo test at 6 weeks after exposure. Please note that there are STDs that are not prevented by a condom, e.g., HPV, Herpes, Syphilis, LGV, pubic lice etc. It would be prudent to consult a doctor if you have any concerns.

Yes: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your results rule out HIV infection.

See below: The standard tests do pick up HIV 1 and 2, I am not sure of HIV3, if there is such a virus. One way around that would be get a nucleic acid test for HIV.

HIV testing: The p24 antigen test can detect the p24 protein within 10–14 days after infection with HIV. As antibodies develop, p24 antigen level drops. There are other tests that can be done at 4 and 12 weeks after exposure.

Some times: To be safe, get a HIV nucleic acid test at 6 months after exposure.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

hello there my hiv duo test results on 42 th day. anti hiv 1/2 : 0.07 p24 antigen: 0.01 (scale is 0.25) here is my quesiton: when i search the web some people say p24 antigen has to be 0.00 mine is 0.01 should i worry?

: You have misunderstood something you found on web searching. It is not true that the index value must be 0.0. It only must be lower than the index value that defines a positive result, which usually is 0.9. Any number below that mean the test is completely negative, that p24 antigen is absent. Your negative result at 42 days proves conclusively you do not have HIV. Congratulations!
