Women also pose risk: All people with HIV regardless of their gender can transmit the virus through unprotected sex. While specific sexual activities may vary slightly, any form of unprotected sex with an hiv+ man or woman can lead to a new HIV infection. Hiv is an incurable ; potentially deadly viral infection if not recognized ; treated. Therefore any risk of HIV transmission - no matter how small - is significant.

YES: HIV can be contracted from blood (body fluid) exposures OUTSIDE sexual contacts alone (eg Hospital Care Workers), IV needle use etc etc etc

Skin vs. mucosa: That's true in the us, mainly because the penis is covered almost entirely with uninfectable skin, whereas the vagina covered with infectable mucous membrane.  Things that increase the risk of female to male transmission include genital ulcers or lack of circumcision in the male partner.

HIV with protection: Yes. It is very unlikely to get HIV infection during a sexual encounter when one is wearing a condom and participating as the insertive partner.

Common illness: We do not know the exact numbers because many people remain undiagnosed until end-stage aids occurs, but there are estimated to be 50, 000 new cases each year in the usa with a population of about 3.2 million.  In some countries it is far more frequent (particularly in africa).  Female to male transmission is less common than in the other direction.

Time: The duration of intercourse makes little difference if you are having unprotected sex with someone who has or is at high risk for HIV. Transmission does occur more frequently from male to female than from female to male. HIV: Is transmitted by transfer of bodily fluids or blood. If the finger has active bleeding and is used in fingering then transmission is possible
