I am Sorry To Hear: about your assault. Have you seen a medical professional since the assault? If not, schedule an appointment right away, explain what happened and request a tetanus booster (DTAP) and testing for HIV, other STD's and any other possible infections the professional recommends. The HIV test should be repeated in about 3 months to be certain. While it is unlikely to get it this way it is possible.

Probably not HIV: HIV doesn&#x27;t cause symptoms like this. It can be associated with vaginal yeast infections, but almost never as the only symptom. Other STDs are more likely cause of vag discharge if recent risk. Easy bruising usually not HIV either. See a doctor ASAP for diagnosis of your discharge and HIV and STD testing -- but the chance you have HIV from a single vaginal sex exposure is extremely low. Good luck!

i was travelling on a motorbike to office and i noticed the guy had bruises and wounds. the was no accident. but i have a small wound which is healing on my hands so am abit worried.  is there any chance of getting hiv?

Little or no risk: Exposure to blood following an accident is theoretically a risk for HIV or other blood borne viruses. However, in the 4 decades of the world-wide HIV epidemic, there have been no reported cases of this actsually happening. If you cared for an injured person and got blood all over yourself, it's a good idea to be tested. Otherwise no worries.

HIV concerns: Random bruising is generally NOT a sign of HIV.    As far as the ulcers  -  likely aphthous ulcers - caused by a virus  - but NOT HIV.     Any ongoing risk factors for HIV??  -   if your exposure was 2 years ago  -  I would expect other symptoms.    Best suggestion - get an HIV test done  - simple, relatively painless and will put your mind at ease.

HIV: Highly unlikely that you would have acquired HIV disease from someone giving you oral sex, but if you reciprocated this is a very good way to become infected if they ejaculated in your mouth.  If you have had any other contacts that make you worried about HIV disease, please go and get tested.  You may also have gotten other stds besides hiv.

Possibly: Exchange of oral fluids has a low transmission rate unless there are punctures, tears, or bleeding in the mouth, lips, or tongue. If you do not know your partner's status then it would be wise to be tested for hiv. Wait 2-3 weeks after contact before getting tested. If the test is negative you may need to return for a second. If your partner does not know her status, she should also be tested.
