Depends on cause: Hirsutism, or excessive hair growth,  may be caused by genetic/ethnic factors, and/or certain hormonal disorders. Topical treatments (shaving, waxing, plucking, laser, creams) may control hair growth. Diagnosing and then treating  underlying hormonal problem (too much male hormones from ovaries or adrenals) may also help. There are rx pills that  also decrease male hormone levels and effects.
