Unlikely: Could be a hip joint problem involving the labrum in side the actual joint.  Injury or strain to the hip can cause that type of problem.  May need and mri.

Hip Labral repair wi: Typically hip Labral repairs with anchors are quite strong and unlikely to be disrupted with the described hip motion. So especially if you did not experience an increase in hip pain ,then u r most likely ok . Avoid those ranges for the first 6 weeks postop. ,to ensure complete healing

i had right hip abductor mechanism repair 3 weeks ago, with instruction for no weight bearing and abduction for 6 weeks. when should it feel normal?

Probably 12 weeks: After 6-8 weeks for the repair to occur after surgery, then you would require pt to overcome the weakness and to improve the strength of the muscles and increase range of motion over the next 4-6 weeks, and also to start weight bearing on the affected leg, .

she appears cachectic & had wasting of her right apb, with reduced power rt finger abduction, as well as in her in left hip flexion. her tone was normal, reflexes were depressed and absent in the ankles with downgoing plantars what does this mean??

: First, the best way to interpret this is to inquire directly from the physician involved.  Cachexia is chronic wasting and loss of bodily bulk.  Mentioned are focal muscular problems in the right hand and left hip.  The reflexes suggest peripheral neuropathy.  But all of this needs clinical correlation.  If this is you, or a relative, don't you have a right to further understanding?

Depends on diagnosis: Tens (transcutaneous electrical stimulation) is a non-invasive way of treating various painful disorders. It essentially drowns out pain stimulus.  Its effectiveness or duration of needed treatment depends on the underlying condition.  Back pain can be caused by a multitude of disorders, and a general statement cannot made regarding the use of tens unit.

Yes And no: I would recommend that you work closely with the physical therapist. If you had prior back pain you could make it worse.

For some: I have patients who have reported to me that the back to life machine works for back pain.  I have not heard report about hip pain but patients whose hip region pain was related to the back did report relief.  This is only information reported to me by patients using the product.

my right hip sometimes pains and feels like its coming out . it is worse when im using the abductor machine at gym. the pain is on the side of my hip and slightly towards the back?

Would stop: Doing this type of exercise for a while, rest the area and better see an orthopedic surgeon/ sports medicine specialist, best wishes

Possibly: Any weight bearing exercises could increase hip pain. Try it and start slowly. Stop if the activity causes pain.

i fell last week and i think i injured my hip area (both hips are replaced), it hurts when i walk but not excruiating. i haven't wanted to out at all. do the after hour places that people go to for help (not er) do they have x-ray machines there?
