Lymphocyte count: What is your total white count? Absolute neutrophil count and absolute lymphocyte count? We need to know them before answering question. Slightly lymphocytosis can be seen with viral infections or pertussis but if you have predominant lymphocytosis, than it could be a clonal blood disorder like cll and will need further testing by a test called peripheral blood flow cytometry.

Accepted Answer

HIV: There can be marked variations in the WBC differential without an obvious cause. You do not say what HIV test you were given and the time period after exposure that the testing was done. You should receive repetitive tests up to three months after exposure at least. Acute HIV infection may be completely asymptomatic.

Problem: Sound like you may have a marrow disorder or a chronic form of leukemia cll. Would rec a hematology eval and a marrow exam.

i had an endo/colo done. finding was a mildly increased intra-epithellal lymphocytes on your duodenal. also, disaccharidases biopsy showed higher than normal levels of sucrase/maltase, notmal lactase and palatinase. normal celiac labs. explain result?

: These tests are sometimes done for intolerance for some sugars in the diet. Duodonal finding is also non specific. It is always best to have the person doing the procedure to explain all findings and answer all questions as he/she knows you condition/ symptoms  best

my platelets count is 148000 and lymphocytes is 49. my ast and alt are in normal range but their ratio is higher than 1. ast is 34 and alt is 22. alp is 166. am i having liver problem?

: It is difficult to interpret those results unless we know your medical history.
However, significant liver problem is very less likely.

my wbc count was 11.3, my lymphocytes were 3.9. being sent to a hematologist if they dont go down. at my last blood draw 5 years ago, my wbc was 11.0. im terrified of blood cancer. do these numbers reflect that? can you have a higher baseline?

Accepted Answer

No: The numbers you posted do not appear unusual &amp; why you would  be sent to a hematologist is not clear. Interpretation of any test without an explanation of why it was done and without the complete test results  is difficult. It appears you need to discuss this with the doc who ordered the test.

LDH: Is only mildly elevated and not really significant . In order to comment about the lymphocytes would need to see the entire CBC but it smells of mono

this can be part of a total low white count ( say bone marrow failure or plastic anemia, or after chemotherapy) or it can be caused by connective tissue disease like Lupus. Immunosuppressants, HIV , and Severe acute respiratory distress are viral causes as well.
