See internist: In and of itself i the high blood pressure does not cause abdominal pain but may  exacerbate other conditions such as an abdominal aortic aneurysm that could result in pain or reflective of an abdominal tumor that could also be causing pain. Your should have your abdominal pain evaluated by an internist.

what do you think of venous sinus stenting for intracranial hypertension? pressure gradients very high bilaterally, more so on left. so offered left venous sinus stent. told it's relatively new, good results?

: If ICH is due to venous stenosis, venoplasty and stenting can be be done but high risk for restenosis and clotting, respectively.
In my specialty when dealing with the venous stenosis of the arm or chest veins of the dialysis patients, venoplasty and stenting have been done but the long term result is poor due to restenosis and clotting.

Yes and no: There is no relation to high blood pressure. The capillaritis (pigmented brown spots) and the venous ulcers are related. Most patient's with disease of the veins in the legs develop swelling (edema) and a brownish discoloration of the skin which is permanent. This is caused by red blood cells leaking into the tissues due to the increased pressure in the veins. Life long condition, no cure

: It can lead to brain swelling as the pressure forces blood to leave blood vessels(veins are thin wall and fluid can leak out of them, which is different from arteries where leaks really only happen with the artery wall ruptures.)  It causes increased pressure in other veins and dilate them too as that blood attempts to flow elsewhere(collateral)

Depends: Modern treatment of high BP is complex, based on many factors, and should be individualized - there is no perfect answer.  For example, a person with diabetes should be on an ace inhibitor (lisinopril, ramapril, etc) or arb (losartan, diovan, (valsartan) etc).  People with heart disease often need to be on a beta-blocker (toprol, coreg, etc).  Choice should also be balanced with costs and side-effects.
