Diabetes (2): Both mellitus and insipidus.  Both are associated with hypernatremia.  Have your chemistry checked to see if this is present.

im a 19 y/o male. 56 150 lbs, fit & healthy.  my issue is severely excessive urination. my fluid intake has nearly no effect on how often i pee. i pee every 10-15 mins, sometimes 40+ times a day. what could be the issue? nothing down there hurts

Urinary frequency: This is not normal and should be evaluated.  Diabetes would be a possibility.  However, some other type of bladder dysfunction possibly. Either way 40 times per day warrants getting seen.

: If you give us the result of a basic metabolic panel, the answer will be more accurate. With these info I can only tell you your kidneys can't concentrate the urine, i.e. diabetic insipidus needs to be ruled out.

High sodium intake: Patients who ingest a high sodium (na) diet run the risk of developing hypertension due to the retention of water caused by a high na intake. You are 36 years old and may not have high blood pressure (hbp). See your diet to get a diet that is not na rich and you may be able to delay your entry into a hypertensive state. If you need flavoring for your diet, try onion or garlic powder or pepper.

Hypertension: Short term fluid retention usually excreted with the na within a day. Repeated episodes (or a high na diet) are thought to lead to hypertension and increased risk of heart disease and stroke.
