Joint symptoms: Joint pain and swelling certainly raise the suspicion of rheumatoid arthritis or collagen disease like lupus in a young woman. Thrombocytosis(high platelet count) is usually the opposite of what is seen in connective tissue disease, but can lead to excessively easy blood clotting and should be followed by a hematologist while a rheumatologist can evaluate your arthritic symptoms.

this tells us the average size of the platelet. In cases of Low platelet count in ITP the MPV is usually high . we blieve that MPV high means the platelet performance is good

Proper workup: This thrombocytopenia is serious and a cause needs to be found. I am going to assume that she is otherwise healthy. It's idiopathic / autoimmune thrombocytopenia until proved otherewise. A competent hematologist needs to investigate now. Forget about this being dengue. Best wishes.

No concern: nothing to worry. ask your doctor to confirm presence of ptechiae versus others. sometimes, very small benign hemangioma or other rash ( subcutaneous bleeds from scratching vs other rash) can mimic ptechiae. go to see your doctor if you see more rash on your body/extremities etc.

: High platelet count can be the first and only sign of serious bone marrow disease, especially chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML), myelodysplasia, and similar problems. Early treatment is important and can be extremely helpful. If your platelet count remains in this range after 2-3 blood counts, ask your PCP for further evaluation, such as consultation with a hematologist-oncologist. Good luck.
