If the percentages of lymphs are low and monos high, it is likely that some stress has caused an increase of cortisol level, driving both of these changes. If the absolute levels of these cell types are abnormal, there could be a more serious infection or a bone marrow disorder that requires further investigation.

% vs abs: A complete blood count w differential counts not only the total number of white blood cells (wbc), but also the absolute # (abs)of the different types of wbc, &amp; the % of the total wbc each type makes up. It is therefore possible to have a normal number but an abnormal %. Not necessarily sign of disease, but what it means depends on reason checked, your med history, what usual is for you, etc.

Not really: Anemia does not cause elevation of lymphocytes...However the anemia and lymphocytosis may be related as those two may be caused by a particular blood disorder. For instance in a case of chronic lymphocytic leuekemia. When this chronic leukemia becomes more progressive and the  cancer burden is becoming higher , anemia can happen.Mhowever, in majority other cases those 2  are not related. D/w md.

Maybe nothing.: You need to know the total white blood cell count to decide. Think of a drawer with 100 pairs of socks in it. Half black (polys) and half white (lymphs). If you take out most of the black socks, you still have the same number of white ones, but the percentage of whites is much higher. So the problem is not too many lymphs, but too few polys. It's the number, not the percentage that counts.
