Maybe: Sometimes lifestyle modifications can help decrease BP and even stop taking medications. Exercise, low sodium diet, losing weight. But there are also the situations which medication are necessary.

could you get high blood pressure from taking novocain (procaine)?

Accepted Answer

Novacaine: Actually novacaine is no longer used anymore (to my knowledge). There are newer types of local anesthetics. To answer your question, getting local anesthetic injections will not raise your blood pressure. Some patients get a temporary increase in blood pressure just by being in a medical or dental office.

See below: High iron foods:beef &amp; chicken liver,,spinach,lentils,tuna,eggs,shrimp,brown rice. You can look up more on foods online.You are on an ACE inhibitor &amp; an calcium channel blocker.It is best to keep an accurate record of your BP,e.g every 2 hrs.during the day till bedtime(you can use a wrist manometer for convenience when not home) &amp; take it to your dr.for dose adjustment or med.changes.Good luck.

I : I think it is important to understand that supplements and herbal remedies differ from traditional medications, both prescription and over-the-counter, in that, by law, they are not required by the government to have the same rigorous standards of proving that they are safe and effective by the fda.  As long as a product has a disclaimer that it does not claim to treat any illness, the company selling it is basically able to make many claims regarding what the product can do.  These products may well be effective and safe (although i would not spend my money on them unless they had data showing that they are indeed safe and effective), but they may not be.  Also, interactions with medications you take for other conditions may occur, and there is no way of knowing this 100%.  I would advise caution.

Additionally, be aware that there are a great many products out there offering "male enhancement" or "improved sexual performance".  None of these products are regulated by the fda, and none have shown any data proving their safety or efficacy.  Despite this, many of the companies manufacturing these products make a great deal of money.  I think a good rule of thumb is, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

No: The national institutes of health center for complementary and alternative medicine notes it's used for diabetic neuropathic pain.  The epocrates alternative medicine database has no listing. Scanning the web, there are no credible claims that it lowers bp. I suspect that you are a victim of population bias in your research: your study group only consists of 1 person and i suspect few measurements.

WINE WITH HIGH BP: A glass of red wine every day will not have any negative effect on your bp, or for that matter on your health as long as you do not have any liver disease and on other meds which can be toxic to the liver and you limit your intake of red wine to not more then 12 oz of red wine.So enjoy it but do not over do it.

i am being treated for high blood pressure.  taking cozaar (losartan) 100mg and hctz.  since taking cozaar (losartan) experiencing chest pressure should i just deal with it?

I would go to the ER: Chest pressure/pain can have serious consequences. I would call 911 or go tot he emergency room for proper assessment of this complaint. Good luck

i have high blood pressure, but i'm taking medicine to lower it. i keep getting blurred vision in my left eye only. what could be causing it?

Simple to serious: Blurred vision in one eye can be something as simple as a mild discharge or infection or something serious affecting the optic nerve or brain controlling the affected eye's vision. It would be unusual for you to have a vascular or blood vessel problem of the eye at your age, but you do have hypertension. This is something you need to get checked out by your eye doctor as soon as you can.

DON'T STOP BP MEDS: Stopping hi blood pressure meds (even for 1 day)  may cause blood pressure to rise to dangerous levels.  I have admitted patients who did just that and had a stroke! 
do not stop medications without consultation with your physician.
