: Yes it is possible.  In medicine everything (almost) is possible.  What you want to know is if probable. As I do not not exactly what was done at surgery it is best to discuss with your surgeon.  Go to uptodate.com and read about hiatal hernia. Discuss with all of your Drs.

Clinically and generally speaking, he should have no reason for avoiding flight 10 days after such procedure. But, for sake of safety, asking the surgeon, who knew the best detail and nature of the procedure, is the most reasonable thing to do. Best wishes to his health...

is it normal to have daily diarrhea after hiatal hernia surgery and on a pureed diet?

Not normal.: C.difficile enterocolitis is a possibility. Often  peri-operative antibiotics adversely affect the bacterial content of the colon resulting in an overgrowth of a bug called clostridium difficile. This causes inflammationc of the colon lining with resultant severe diarrhea. Stool culture is needed to make confirm the diagnosis. But if diagnostic tests are positive, vancomycin and/or Flagyl is used.

drs have done 4 endoscopies, i don't have hiatal hernia, if i don't take nexium (esomeprazole) daily i feel horrible, i diet, what's wrong? are there any surgerys to fix acid reflux?

Preventing reflux: Part of preventing reflux is maintaining weight, elevating head of bed, not lying down for at least 1 hr after eating, avoiding trigger foods like fried/fatty/greasy foods, spicy foods, onions, caffeine, soft drinks, acidic foods (tomato/lemon/lime). Have doc test for helicobacter pylori, which is associated with ulcers, possibly reflux. Treat if positive. A different ppi may work better for you.

Hiatal hernia: You may not like the idea but examination by a surgeon is very likely to result in a recommendation for surgical correction. If you don't follow through with this you are likely to get worse, not better. Sure, nobody likes surgery if not necessary but at the very least you should see a surgeon.

Depends: If symptoms, such as heartburn, are well controlled medically and your hernia has not enlarged, you may not need surgery. Watch for development of dysphagia (food getting stuck), worsening heartburn, difficulty catching you breath, or frank chest pain. These are signs that your hernia is enlarging or the associated reflux is worsening. Report these to your doctor who can order appropriate tests.
