Yes: Antivirals, such as Acyclovir or valacyclovir, can be used to treat herpes infections in the eye.  If it is on the cornea (keratitis), you can use orals or topical; if it is in the eye itself, you will most likely need to start on IV medications. Regardless, it can be extremely destructive, and with the critical nature of the eye, you should see a doctor immediately if this is a concern.

Depends: There is no hard set duration for side effects of valacyclovir.  There are many people who tolerate it just fine for months/years because they need to take it to suppress herpes infection; that being said, it doesn't mean there aren't other people that will react to it.  Each person's body is different.

Weigh risks: Not sure i completely understand, but if you were diagnosed with rubella or CMV early in pregnancy, there could be some serious effects on the baby. How far along are you? You may want to consider ending the pregnancy if the infection reached the fetus. Talk to your doctor about options.

Maybe false positive: Edited, correcting a misunderstanding in my initial reply:  Most HSV2 IgG tests, e.g. HerpeSelect®), are officially positive at ELISA ratio 1.1 or higher. However, it is reliably positve only at 3.5 or higher. With your value of 1.5, there&#x27;s at least a 50:50 chance you do NOT have HSV2, despite the test result. Speak with your doctor about confirmatory testing, e.g. Western blot test.

Virus: Itd be unusual. If youve tried all those treatments without help, you should see an ent for an exam of the nose and sinus openings. Sometimes a ct scan of the sinuses is needed

Possibily: Some people with intact skin develop herpetic whitlow after touching herpetic sore, others don't. There is no way to tell who will get it. If you washed your hands right away chances are smaller, but there is still a risk. Can you infect someone else? It's a possibility, but again, small chance.
