Herpes: Herpes is a viral infection of the skin. It always comes the first time from another person. Herpes on your penis could come from your penis contacting the virus in a woman's vagina, or a persons mouth or anus, or even their hand. It doesn't pay to confront anyone about where your infection came from, and you should use condoms for sexual activity. Herpes can be treated easily with pills, or cream.

Yes you could: It only takes a small abrasion on your penis for the virus to enter. HSV is very contagious- best to avoid contact if she has an open lesion.

Herpes 1 and 2: Most herpes on the face is type 1. Most people already have it but have no symptoms. Saliva and contact with your mouth is exposing her, but she is probably already in possession of this virus, so she will notice nothing. If you want to know, you and the girl can both have blood tests to discover who has which herpes virus. You may be in for some surprises.

: I know of no HSV infection that would appear on the lower leg. Without having a good idea of what that sore is from it is difficult to speculate where it could transfer.

Good idea, but: Lip Herpes type 1 is hard to avoid. The majority of adults have had cold sores on a lip. It is hard to live a normal life if one tries to be clean enough not to catch oral herpes, because that would mean a very high level of "germ avoidance," which we now know can be bad for humans. Being too clean creates humans who lack some beneficial germs. That said, it's ok to not kiss until sores go away.

Maybe: It may be due to herpes, but more commonly, if it is on the inside of the cheek or on the gums it may be an aphthous ulcer.  The cause is not known, but it is self-limiting and usually clears up within about 7 to 10 days.
