Oh my, yes: But first it's important to look at why you're having insomnia.  Some types really do need conventional treatments -- so a diagnostic evaluation with your doctor is wise.  Sleep studies may be indicated too.  Additionally, some sleep problems can come from anxiety & can benefit from psychotherapy. This said, herbs such as lemon balm, california poppy, hops, kava, and valerian can all help w/sleep.

Yes: Some supplements that help prevent migraines: coenzyme q, riboflavin, butterbur. There's been conflicting information about feverfew & magnesium. Chinese medicine/acupuncture may help. Try it for at least 2-3 months before you give up. Remember to eat right, get moving 30-60 minutes every day, and sleep well.

Herbal tea may relax: You or make you feel good for a short trimester, but it is not a viable treatment for depression. Reach out to a psychologist and/or a psychiatrist and develop a treatment plan. Usually, I would start with psychotherapy and add medication if the depression does not lift after a 10 - 12 sessions. If someone is severely depressed or suicidal, start with medication right away.

In short, no.: There is currently no cure for hiv.  Herbal treatments have been evaluated but none have been shown to be effective.  Only anti-hiv medications in combination of at least 3 meds (known as highly active antiretroviral therapy or haart) have been shown to have effectiveness in keeping HIV at bay, although haart is also not a cure, but have made HIV a more manageable chronic illness.

No: Herbal treatments may be effective in reducing  gum recession but the best treatment is a gum graft by a periodontist and careful maintenance afterward.

No scientific data.: Herbal treatments are not under the purview of the fda, therefore clinical trials are not required for herbs. Consequently, there are no scientific data involving herbal treatments to determine what is "effective" for the treatment of torticollis. Unscientific anecdotal evidence or testimonials are commonly used to suggest herbal therapy is useful for certain maladies. This is not always reliable.
