Wait: Until released for travel by your surgeon. May depend if you had open or laparoscopic surgery. May want to wait about 2 weeks, & also see the surgeon for a check up before traveling.

no: If you have temp after colectomy you should have infection either inside or under skin.

The next day: I get my patient out of bed either on the night of surgery or the next day and get them walking several times per day. From that point on you can increase your walking as desired so long as keep yourself well hydrated and minimize steep inclines or steps.

Yes: Cecectomy just removes the very "tip" of the start of the colon.  Right hemicolectomy removes the entire right side of the colon.  Often done for a large polyp or cancer.

Nothing long term: While during the perioperative period there could be a variety of systems temorarily affected, there shouldn't be any long term affects of removeing a segment of colon. Check with your surgeon to be sure about your specific case.

Follow MD 's advice: Each surgeon had individual preference  to prepare the bowel ,during  preoperative time. Do not break the preparation protocol . Poorly prepared colon will  result higher complication rate , like post OP infection etc. Speak to your surgeon.

Colon Resection: The literal definition would be "removal of half of the colon", either left or right. This typically refers to cancer operations in which the extent of resection corresponds with the blood supply & lymph node distribution of the colon. In actuality, we usually perform "segmental" resections, typically removing 1/3 to 1/4 of the colon.

High fiber: I recommend a high fiber diet.  Depending on which side of colin was taken you may have diarrhea or loose stools in the beginning.  More so in the r. Either way high fiber diet is the healthier way to eat.
