Flank pain: Usual complaint is of flank pain initially.
Also there may be blood in the urine, but this may be a small amt and would only be detected on microscopic exam.

Best to see your DR, have exam, and labs done.

how long will a hematoma from a kidney biopsy take to resolve?  two weeks and still in some pain.

Kidney Biopsy: I've seen this kind of pain last up to 6 weeks but that was in someone who had some really bad bleeding afterwards.  I would say the normal amount of time to have some pain is 2 weeks.  What is critical is this - is the pain slowly resolving?  If so, you are recovering.  The actual blood that has been lost will reabsorb over about a 2-3 weeks.

24 hrs post kidney transplant the graft not functioning. ultrasound showed a subcapsular hematoma, but no surgical removal was done. options?

Ask the doctor,...: What you reported-24 hrs-could be still normally expected although we like to see the transplanted kidney starts to make urine right away. So, I am quite sure it deserves a close watch and see. At times, a period of dialysis may be still needed, but the longer no urine with rising BUN and creatinine, the less to hope good outcome. For individual situation, please ask the transplanted surgeon.

See professionals...: Bruise there is probably not related with kidney itself. Instead, watch for possible low platelet count. This is just a guess for your age and described condition.

: When a large bruise/hematoma forms there can be a knot of calcium deposited at the site. This can take upwards of a year to fade. I doubt it has anything to do with the NF.

Go to ER:  Any non traumatic bruising in the abdomen or back area can indicate a peritoneal or retroperitoneal bleed. This is an emergency and should be treated at an ER. The vomiting may also indicate that there is some kind of intestinal involvement.

Normal: It is very common to get a bruise after the ceftriaxone shot. It will go away like any other bruise.

Blood: A hematoma is basically blood that has gone into the soft tissues.  Trauma is a common cause.  If the hematoma is superficial, it will often cause the appearance of a bruise in the area.  If it is deep, it may not be visible.  They can resorb, but should be followed by a doctor to make sure they are not expanding or becoming infected.  Sometimes they have to be drained.

MIght have: How does it hurt to go to the bathroom. do you mean urine or stool?
Do you see blood in the urine? That would be the way one might tell if you bruised a kidney. The back pain when you breathe and when you move is either bruised muscle and ribs. Might consider if severe a fx rib.
