Needs evaluation : Endometriosis can attach itself to places outside of the uterus. Even though you've had a hysterectomy, you could still have some endometrial tissue left. You may need further medical treatment or surgery to correct this. Please visit with your Gyn.

Needs Evaluation: It's uncommon to have bleeding and pain so far down the line. Check if you have any other symtoms like fever, urinary incontinence, change  in bowel habits, vaginal bleeding even when not having sex, any change in vaginal discharge or any signs of menopause. I would also suggest refraining from sexual activity until you see your Gynaecologist. A Pelvic Ultrasound might help in the diagnosis.

Menopausal symptoms: Consult with your physician regarding options. Meanwhile, you may try estrovan for symptom relief for 4 weeks or so until you get seen.

recently had a lupron injection and will be getting a hysterectomy. now having the side effects like hot flashes. im also breaking out in red bumps all over my face, little heat in my vaginal area, and some burning when i urinate. std or hormones?

: Sudden variation in available ovarian estrogen can produce dermatologic effects, as well as "hot flashes".  Obtain a urinalysis to make sure there is no bladder infection, and a culture/blood test to check for STD's, from a visit with your GYN physician.

Heating pad: A heating pad is basically a thin flat plastic pad with coils inside, which when plugged in, warm the pad.  There are many brands available, but choosing one with a washable fabric cover and at least three heat settings would be best.  Most drug stores sell them.

can i use moist heating pad to manage sciatica?

Accepted Answer

Yes: The sciatic nerve can be irritated because of a herniated disc, arthritis that results in tightening of the spinal canal, falls, injuries, or other rare reasons (tumors, infections). Anti-inflammatory medications, alternating heat/cold therapy, physical therapy (especially with traction) can be helpful to relieve sciatic pain.

Not a good idea.: Any type of prolonged heat application to the fetus is potentially teratogenic and neurotoxic - avoid heating pads, saunas, prolonged hot-tub immersions throughout pregnancy!

At most 1 hour: Hi, good question...

There will be some variability based on the temperature of the pad and your skin sensitivity. Let your common sense be the judge, you do not want to end up with a burn and make your situation worse.

General guide:  up to 30 minutes at high setting and 60 minutes at low setting.

NO: Do not ever sleep with an electric heating pad on.  You could burn your skin, cause a fire, or become entangled in the cord, possible strangulation.   Never fall asleep with the heating pad.

i am diagnosed with cholecystitis.  can i use a heating pad to soothe the pain.?

Accepted Answer

Maybe: But internal pressure pains from gallstones causing irritation of the gallbladder may have limited relief from external heat. Can try ibuprofen. Avoid fried, fatty & greasy foods.  See your doctor to get a referral to a general surgeon to discuss gallbladder surgery.
