Not likely.: However, a linear distribution usually indicates a possible allergic or irritant contact dermatitis to something that came into contact with the skin (such as poison ivy etc.). Also rash in this instance would be very itchy. Hope this helps.

Bumps Bottom: These like so many other things in medicine need to be looked at to tell what they are.  Just today my granddaughter had bumps on her bottom, I could not diagnose it with the pictures my daughter sent me, but easily diagnosed it when she brought her over and I could see them.

Rash: A rash is best evaluated in person by a doctor for a specific diagnosis. The breast bone is a common place for rash/heat rash especially due to sweating and heat. Try a topical anti-itch cream and consider adding a non-sedating antihistamine once or twice per day until rash is gone. Keep area clean and no scrubbing.

Is it shingles?: Usually only on on side of the body and look like red spots some may look like blisters.  Shingles is react ovation of chickenpox virus. Numbness and pain typically precede rash.  Treatment consists of ant viral like Acyclovir , steroids, and pain meds.

If this is indeed acne, he may not be aware that all acne can be treated effectively. Some men like having some acne / acne scars for character, but most of us would prefer to do without. This is the 21st century & he has a right to a clear skin if he wishes.
