See below: GERD is not known to cause rashes or hives. these are most common with anything that causes histamine release from the body like allergies.  Gerd can present with unusual symptoms like asthma, chest pain, headaches, biter taste, sore throat. but the hallmark of GERD is heartburn

i have a tsh level of 0.06. i take eltroxin 100mcg. anything lower i get hives. sore throat and puffiness when clearing. thyroid small tho and gerd.  ?

Low TSH: The TSH is low.  That would imply that your FT4 is high (needs to be measured), which would imply that your levothyroxine dose is too high, or your thyroid is producing some hormone on top of what you are taking in the pill.  You and your doctor (perhaps with help of an Endocrinologist) need to figure this out.  Long term, it is not healthy to be this way.  Bone loss, stress on the heart.

i was given 150 mg oral prednisone daily for 4 days then 80 for 2 days for hives.weight 122 lb.got side effects almost passed out ended up in er. since then having gi distress and severe heartburn. is this a really high dose ?

Yes: That is an unusually high dose of prednisone. Typical doses are in the range of 1 mg/kg, in your case about 50 mg for few days followed by a taper. In conditions that need higher doses a more potent steroid is used. Talk to your treating provider about your symptoms and further recommendations.

had allergic reaction to minocycline. hives, heartburn, chills, feeling ill. took prednisone/benadryl. hives gone for 4 days, why am i still itchy?

Inflammation: !st drug such as minocycline tends to linger on in the tissue longer. 2nd the inflammation triggered by the drug takes 1-2 weeks to resolve even after the drug has been discontinued. Think of it as a deep scratch on your skin, it won't heal immediately just because you have stopped scratching it.

33wks pregnant, i took 2 tums (calcium carbonate) for heartburn and now i'm itchy all over and developing what looks like hives on my legs and stomach. am i allergic?

Unlikely: Hives are common but allergy to Tums (calcium carbonate) and it's inactive ingredients is not.  You need to look elsewhere.

Hives: Go see your doctor. Hives and other can be related or not but head to toe hives suggest a systemic allergy or other similar reaction.

Constant: Heart burn could be a signal of something wrong. From hiatal hernia, to bacterial infection, should be evaluated by gastroenterologist. Some of the over the counter blockers may help, but need to be evaluated.

Yes: Heartburn is a common symptom of gastroesophageal reflux disease (gerd). Not all heartburn is gerd( 95%+ is) and not everyone with gerd has heartburn.

Studies have shown: That the differential diagnosis of heartburn symptoms is quite broad, but according to Dr. Harmon and others in Therapeutic Advances in Gastroenterology,  there are five major causes:
Medications, functional dyspepsia, GERD, peptic ulcer disease, and cancer.
