Stimulants: Stimulants increase the heart rate and make the heart more irritable and prone to irregular rhythms that would be perceived as palpitations. In addition to increasing the heart rate, some increase the strenght of the hear beat resulting in more blood being pumped that may cause a murmur, even in the absence of a heart defect. These stimulant may be ingested substances or internally produced.

Depends: It depends to a large degree what the cause of your heart murmur is. Some are benign. Some are not. Palpitations are present in nearly everyone sometimes and their significance depends on the underlying health of your heart. An echocardiogram and Holter exam would go a long way in determining if yours are serious.

It is ok.: MVP can cause Palpitation. as a rule any heart symptoms which lasts less than 30 seconds are not emergency and are benign symptoms.
 Anxiety makes all the symptoms worse so try to take deep breath. It increases Vagal tone and helps Slow down the HR. it also hel your Anxiety

Arrhythmia: The fact that you have been told your murmur is benign implies that you have had an echo that showed normal valve function and normal heart strength.  Irregular beats of any type in a healthy heart, tend to be fairly benign.  A 24 hour monitor may be helpful to see exactly what is going on.

Palps and pops: First since your doctor says your heart is fine, stop poisoning yourself with 'pop'. If you are smoking or using other substances like 'pot' or other; stop that. Don't drink more than one cup or coffee a day. Get regular daily exercise for at least half an hour and if things don't improve go back to the doc for more steps.

i have heart palpitations every morning, anywhere from 85 to 120 bpm, they usually wake me up between 5:30 and 7:30 am every morning for the last 3 months. i dont have shortness of breath and no pain. i do have a heart murmur but dont take meds for?

: Reasons to wake up at night like this include sleep apnea, or other medications you might be taking such as BP meds that are wearing off in early morning.  If legs are swollen during day and go down at night ask your Drs about congestive heart failure.

i have a slight heart murmur & anxiety. dr told me not to google it. i took baby aspirin a couple days because of quick sharp chest pain likely from my gastritis. now i'm worried the aspirin may flare gastritis or flare my palpitations, is it safe?

: I don't worry that aspirin will halt or cause cardiac irritability, but it can cause or aggravate gastritis. Have your palpitations been checked by wearing an outpatient heart monitor to determine whether you're experiencing true cardiac arrhythmias?  If they are identified, are they high grade serious or benign and a nuisance? If they bother you, beta blockers may suppress them. ?See cardiologist
