Will not hurt you &amp;: check that it has live cultures, and that the milk that it's made from is Bovine Hormone Free, or you will be ingesting that too. There's so much to think about, so eating organic is the best, or make your own from organic milk as another option. Probiotics help us digest food better and keep our friendly bacteria growing happily to give us enzymes needed for our gut microbiome (culture).

Expired food product: Out of date food can still be eaten - within reason - ie several days.  But no more.  As food "ages" the bacterial content increases and eventually will cause spoilage or unsafe levels.  In addition as food "ages" the nutrient levels decrease.

No: Greek yogurt is nutritionally equivalent to other yogurts.  It has a different texture and some like the taste a little better and currently is very much in vogue.  If your balanced diet includes a cup of daily yogurt, then by all means go for it.

can people who are lactose intolorent eat frozen yogurt?

Accepted Answer

Up to a point: Most frozen yogurt not high in live cultures, bacteria that break down lactose (milk sugar). Most can eat some dairy without symptoms, gas, bloat, cramps, loose stool.  Can always take lactase tabs beforehand; eat as part of a mixed meal helps too.

Lanzoperazol: I am unaware that you need take the probiotics at any special time in relationship to lanzoperazole. I am unaware of any reaction between the two.

No.: There are plenty of other foods that supply protein and calcium, and plenty of other probiotics.

Yogurt has calories: Yogurt has calories, but splenda does not. That means yogurt with sugar will have more calories than the same yogurt with splenda. It will take a larger quantity of yogurt with splenda to cause the same amount of weight gain (compared to yogurt with regular sugar).

Not recommended: In general the recommendation is no bovine milk products (yogurt) until older than one year of age.

is it possible for me to eat yogurt with ceftriaxone?

Accepted Answer

Yogurt: Ceftriaxone is an antibiotic.  There is absolutely no problem eating yogurt while on this antibiotic.  Just know that the live cultures in the antibiotic, the 'good bacteria' get killed off by the antibiotic just as do the infection causing bacteria.  However, if you like yogurt there is no reason you cannot eat it while of the medicine.
