See below: Depends upon cause, scarring, and whether original cause is no longer present.  But in general, if nerve coverings are compromised, should improve over 4 weeks, and if axonal center is a problem, might grow back at speed of 0.1mm daily.

Very common: I see this a great deal, specially in patients prone to headaches and migraine.  Just above the top of the angle between your head and neck is the occipital plexus, which is were migraines really originate from.  Tenderness in the region is rarely serious and common, may also be indicative of arthritis high in your neck.

Yes: If it is clear that you suffer from displaced disks or pinched nerves in the neck then, certainly flexing the neck forward can create a pulling sensation on the spinal column and subsequently place drag or stretch on the nerves and vertebral disks which may not be perfectly aligned causing pain in the neck.  Have you participated in some type of exercise therapy for your condition?

Crackles: It is caused by your vertebral movement and is very common and when you move your neck you releive muscle tension thus feeling better.

Masturbation: Masturbation is a normal and common part of the human experience.  Your penis anatomy consists of tissue, tubing, nerves, etc. There is no negative health or medical consequences to masturbation. Now that does not mean that overdoing it won't lead to abrasion, swelling, and some loss of sensation. But rest should restore those things to normal if they occur.

Muscle spasm: 20&#x27;s male with knot-like sensation in upper neck likely has chronic muscle spasm.  If symptoms are unilateral then chronic head tilting is to be considered.  Other associated findings might be asymmetric shoulders with underlying scoliosis and even pelvic girdle asymmetry due to a unilateral SIJ hypermobility disorder.  Osteopathy, massage, cannabis topicals, and acupuncture are considerations.

Ok: I can just tell you that if your spine truly seperated from your head, you would be dead; essentially because you would be paralyzed and unable to breathe.  But you could have very well sustained a serious injury, and if you are concerned and/or in severe pain I would tell you to be seen and thoroughly evaluated.
