Find the cause: Shampoos might be more appropriate if its actually seborrhea. Eczema calls for a search as to its cause and correcting whatever it is -- you may even be allergic to a hair care product.

Not a cure: You need to shampoo regularly to keep dandruff under control. Any shampoo will do but you need to wash your scalp every day.

Third best treatment: Selenium sulfide found in selsun blue kills the fungi (malassezia furfur) that causes tinea versiclolor. Applying the shampoo, letting it dry on for 10 minutes,  washing it off, do this daily for 7-10 days may do the trick. Or .... Ask your doctor for a single dose of Fluconazole or ketoconazole and watch your skin clear up.

Yes: There's a special fungal infection called tinea versicolor would be affected by the application of selsun blue shampoo(use as lotion).

Hair loss: is it your son or you? is the hair loss in chunks or patches. hair loss is patches is alopecia areata. Randome hair loss may be thyroid. Oily hair is not the cause of hair loss per se. Please see a doctor

Either way: Washing every day will help.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.  Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.
Practice safe sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

Dandruff: You could try Nizoral (ketoconazole) shampoo instead

i really need help finding a shampoo that fights dandruff but also works for extremely sensitive skin? ive had reactions to both selsun blue and dove.

Trial and error,: There is no rhyme or reason to the sensitivity you are experiencing. Many patients allergic to sulfa will react to Selsun. Dove is fairly mild. Neutogena is mild and non-allergenic and many of my patients have done well with Zinc products. A trial of Zincon shampoo may be helpful. If these don't work see your physician or Dermatologist for other options. Good luck and good hair.

i got chemical burn between my breasts from using selsun selsun blue. it's been a week and i have pink skin where the burn was. repigmentation happen?

Could: It depends on how severe and how deep the burn was whether or not the skin will return to its normal color after a chemical burn. Hope this helps.
